Suntory Royal and Suntory Old Whisky are the company’s mid-range blended whiskies, and every year since 1982 they’ve announced special editions to commemorate the new year of the Chinese zodiac. 2018 is no exception.
2018 is the Year of the Dog, so the new bottles pay homage to man’s best friend. The Royal is a porcelain bottle of 600ml shaped like a dog playing with a ball at 8800 yen before tax. Just for reference, the standard bottle is around 3500 yen at 700ml. The Old Whisky is 700ml at 1880 yen. Both will be released on November 7.
