大約30年前開始，威士忌製造廠SUNTORY每年在迎接新的一年來臨之前，都會製造一款以新年的生肖為設計主題的瓶裝威士忌。登場的有以酒瓶形狀為特徵的「生肖酒瓶」。SUNTORY的山崎蒸餾所，除了生產日本威士忌代表等級、同時也是主力商品的單一純麥「山崎」以外，同時還生產許多其它的威士忌。預約制的工廠參觀也很有人氣，有許多為了享受試喝而前來造訪的遊客，是一大特徵。

現在日本國內的陶瓷食器大約有六成是美濃燒，產量居全國之冠。美濃燒產於岐阜縣多治見、土岐，歷史非常悠久，七世紀（飛鳥時代）在岐阜縣東濃地區燒製的「須惠器」，被視為是美濃燒的起源。美濃燒初期多半使用灰釉燒製，到了安土桃山時代，生產出黃瀨戶、瀨戶黑、志野以及織部樣式，被視為美濃燒的四大基本樣式。這時適逢茶道興盛，美濃燒也迎來了全盛時期。其中瀨戶黑的深黑色茶碗以及濃綠色的織部茶碗與花器，特別受到武士與茶人愛用。到了江戶時代則轉向大量燒製平民用的陶瓷，近年來簡樸溫暖的粉引陶瓷器非常受歡迎。它不是透亮純淨的白瓷，而是帶著少許鐵質與泥土顆粒的自然暖白。
